🐶 About the Project
An Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) equipped with a bio-inspired sensor "AI Nose" pretrained on various scents that detects the source of an odor and automatically navigates to it. Developed as part of the SICK Solution Hackathon by utilizing SAFELOG and NTT DATA's technologies.

🎯 Methods
We were focused on biology-inspired robots to create more responsive machines that have an easier time manipulating their environment.
Today robots sense their environment thanks to their embedded sensors. They can see with cameras, and hear with microphones, but what about smell?
We have an artificial nose that uses four sensors: nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide, ethanol & volatile organic compound.
The AI nose guides the navigation of our robot in order to locate a target. Our solution has received an accuracy of 96% and can identify the target in 45 sec.
The technology can be easily customizable and scalable to be used in different industrial applications and to detect specific targets.
